Laura Grasa, PhD, DVM
Dr Laura Grasa is Associate Professor in Physiology in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
Her principal lines of investigation are:
-Antibiotic-induced intestinal dysbiosis. Modulation of the intestinal microbiota through prebiotics obtained from milk.
-Role of the gut microbiota in the immune system activation and intestinal motor function regulation
-Evaluation of organometallic compounds as drugs against colon cancer.
-Carbon nanotubes as a drug delivery system for intestinal diseases
Dr Grasa has published 53 peer reviewed scientific papers with more than 600 times cited and has an h-index of 15.
She is a Fellow of the Spanish Society of Physiological Sciences, the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility and the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) organisation.
She has extensive experience in animal models and has the licence to carry out procedures on animals (functions a, b, c and d according to Orden ECC/566/2015).
